Oregon Baseball.

OREGON DUCKS BASEBALL

You're probably thinking baseball? Oregon has a baseball team? Well yes they do... They dropped the program 28 years ago and have once again brought it back. They somehow lured former Cal State Fullerton coach George Horton who has won multiple College World Series and tons of regionals and super regionals. The home stadium of the Ducks has changed. They used to play at Howe Field, built in 1936. The ballpark was converted in 1987 to accommodate the softball team. So the university built an $18 million ballpark in the shadow of Autzen Stadium. Ground was broken in August. They have already hosted reigning national champions Fresno State. They lost the series, but did put up a fight and one out of the three. Last weekend they renewed the once know Civil War rivalry with Oregon State. The Ducks faced tough competition and had a rough weekend, but won one of the games. Who expects a team to be very successful and have a strong team in the first year back? They have some high expectations with a promising recruiting class. The University of Oregon had to drop a sport, which was wrestling in order to be able to bring in baseball due to budget constraints. They currently stand at 11-14, which is not bad for a first year back. Oregon Baseball is back. They will contend for postseason in the next couple of years.
