The 102 MPH College Fastball

San Diego State Aztecs pitcher, Stephen Strasburg, owns college baseball most powering fastball. He has been clocked consistently at 101 MPH and can hit 102 about every 4 pitches. Strasburg was almost put away and had no attention from the Aztecs' strength coach, he later focused and started lighting up the radar guns. He has a 254 to 38 strikeout-to-walk ratio, which can be unheard of. Strasburg has a 6'4 220 pound frame that can just fan batter after batter. He is the consensus No. 1 pick in this upcoming draft. The Washington Nationals are the favorite to pick him at No. 1, but if they don't they will be facing serious criticism and maybe a move back to Montreal. Tony Gwynn, coach of the Aztecs, has been just favoring Strasburg and even says that Strasburg makes many hitters look silly at the plate. "Strasburg's four-seamer and two-seamer can make good hitters look slow. His sweeping slider can make them look silly," said an MLB scout. Gwynn is helping Strasburg's future by only allowing him to about 115 pitches per start and he starts only once a week.
